Talisman Energy USA Inc. deeply regrets the diesel spill on the Putnam wellsite. Protecting the environment is a core company value which we take very seriously. We are very sensitive to any environmental impact due to our operations and we strictly follow proven best practices in order to avoid any occurrence of this type.

Talisman Energy USA Inc. has entered into a settlement agreement with the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) fully meeting the regulatory directives of the department. Talisman is committed to continued safe and environmentally respectful operations.

At the time of this incident, our emergency response team immediately notified the department and cooperated with them to contain and remediate its effects.

We have gained important learnings from this incident and have applied them to improve safety and environmental safeguards of our operations at the Putnam 77-5H well and all of our Marcellus operations.

In addition to applying strict standards that ensure our compliance with State and Federal requirements, we conduct our own extensive supervision and inspection during all phases of our operations; from surveying, drilling, production, and pipeline construction through to final retirement and reclamation of each well.
